JAPANESE Tissue Paper, WHITE 11G/M2 – B02003

Japanese tissue paper 11 g/m2
Acid-free, handmade using Japanese techniques, using original techniques and natural fibers. Japanese tissue paper is used to protect the painting surface of works of art. By sticking tissue paper on the face of the painting, we protect the paint (mosaic, gilding) from falling off. Tissue paper is used especially when works of art are moved. Necessary in the first phase of conservation procedures, when securing a poorly preserved and unstable painting layer, especially before the process of duplicating paintings. We can use tissue paper to cover the most sensitive parts of a painting or other work: blisters, areas of unstable paint. Such protection with tissue paper protects these fragments when cleaning the work (the cleaning substance can be applied to the tissue paper, which makes the intervention very gentle). Rabbit glue in a very light solution is most often used to stick Japanese tissue paper. The tissue paper is easily removed from the object (using a delicate sponge soaked in warm water). Used to protect paintings on canvas, on board, mosaics, sculptures, wall paintings, gilded elements, and paper preservation.
