PARALOID B67 1KG – B07009

 

Paraloid B67 is a resin for protecting objects against destructive weather conditions (isobutyl methacrylate copolymer). The most important feature is very high resistance to light (does not turn yellow), water, aqueous solutions of acids, alkalis, salts and microorganisms. After drying, it forms a medium-hard and transparent coating. It is one of the best synthetic materials used in the conservation of monuments. Praloid B-67 solutions are used as a binder for fixing (consolidating) sensitive, powdery and flaking surfaces and as a retouching varnish. A mixture of Paraloid and various types of filler is an excellent filler for gaps in metal objects.

It is used in solutions from 8% to 15% depending on the purpose. Praloid B-67 dissolves better than B72 in non-polar solvents. It is very soluble in esters (ethyl and amyl acetate), ethers, ketones, alcohols, glycols, aromatic hydrocarbons (xylene and toluene). Drying rate improved. Praloid B 67 is also used to enhance the surface durability of other resins.
