DAMAR RESIN

Natural, soft damar resin, obtained from the tropical tree family Dipterocarpaceae, is one of the most recommended resins used in lacquers. There are light colored transparent pieces. Damar resin is used, not only in the production of varnishes, but also used (to strengthen and protect the layer of drawings and paintings), in restoration, it is used as an additive in the production of thermoplastic waxy resin masses. It can be mixed with other resins, waxes, pigments and oils. It has good moisture resistance and high light resistance. It dissolves in turpentine, mineral spirits, carbohydrates.
